Make plans now to join the Springs Theatre Company for its Summer 2010 production of “A Wynne-Win for All”. This is a fun-filled musical comedy that follows the exploits of a young woman who longs to follow her dream to be an actress amidst an uncertain family life. This original work is being premiered in Pagosa and is suitable for the entire family.
Featured in this production is recent Bayfield High School graduate, Adel Vaughn. Adel is an accomplished performer, having been seen in the Durango Arts Center theater productions of ‘Secret Garden’, ‘High School Musical’, and ‘Into the Woods, Jr.’. With Bayfield High she performed in ‘Lady Pirates of Captain Bree’, ‘Calamityville Terror’, and ‘The Lost City of Nunus’. She is also a talented musician with twelve years of piano, as well, as several years of vocal and dance training and performance. She was part of the Western Slope Show Choir in 2008 and 2009. Adel will be attending UNC in the fall.
Joining Adel on stage are Pagosa stage veterans Elizabeth Baldwin and Rick Artis. Elizabeth has graced Pagosa productions for several years. She has played prominent roles in many of STC’s previous shows, including last summer’s “The Plot Thickens” and “Left in the Breeze”, as well as, this year’s Rotary Follies. Rick has acted in, written, directed and/or produced nearly all of the Springs Theatre productions. Previously, he has also been involved with other theatre groups in town. “A Wynne-Win for All” is the fifth play he has written specifically for Spring’s Theatre Company.
Rounding out the cast are stage newcomer Alexis Artis and veteran D’Ann Artis. This is Alexis’ first major production. D’Ann is no stranger to the Pagosa stage either, having played major roles in several of STC’s previous productions, as well as other performing with other groups as well. In addition to acting in this show, she makes her directorial debut and serves as both Set and Costume Designer for the production.
Show dates for “A Wynne-Win for All” will be, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, August 11 through 13, at the Pagosa Springs High School Auditorium. These performances are ‘Show Only’ and include light refreshments during intermission. Curtain will be at 7:30 pm with doors opening at 7:00.
In an effort to make STC productions available to everyone, ticket prices have been reduced for 2010. ‘Show Only’ prices are now, Adults $12, Seniors, 55 and older, $10 and Children, 12 and under, $5.
